The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History is located in the Mesilla Valley Mall and is dedicated to broadening people’s understanding of natural history, science, and the environment of New Mexico and the Chihuahuan Desert. The Gadsden Museum maintains the local history of the Gadsden and Etowah county areas, and is dedicated to supporting southern artists. The GMA also houses an extensive permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and prints. In addition, the museum hosts a series of changing exhibits featuring the works of local and regional artists. The White Sands Missile Range displays more than 50 varieties of missiles and rockets that are tested at White Sands. At the White Sands Missile Range museum you can trace the origin of America's missile and space activity, find out how the atomic age began, and learn about the accomplishments of scientists. | |
Space Murals, Inc. has become known as "The People's Museum," due to the fact, most of the inside displays were put on display by, or on loan from, people who have an interest in the Space Program. The facility also consists of a 1,200,000 gallon water tank, with murals circling the tank. Located in dan Cultural Center focuses on the presentation and interpretation of the history and cultural arts of the region; in addition to a gallery dedicated to Las Cruces history. Historic artifacts dating from 1850 and cultural arts all dedicated to the history of Las Cruces and the Mesilla Valley to foster awareness and understanding owntown Las Cruces, NM, The Branigof the history and multi-cultural heritage of Las Cruces and its environs.
